Selaeis

This piece was inspired by Gem Galaxies, a “fan game” on ROBLOX inspired by the cartoon Steven Universe, a show I shed some more light on during my explanation of Corrupted Mera’s page. Selaeis, like my character Mera, is a Gem. While Mera is a Larimar, Selaeis is a Sodalite. However, Selaeis is defective: a wrongly coloured Sodalite. In the world of Steven Universe and Gem Galaxies, Sodalites are fusions of two Gems: Larimars and Lapis Lazulis. Typically, two Gems fuse together consensually. However, the Larimar and Lapis Lazuli that make up Selaeis fused together while they were forming underground, thus creating a defective Sodalite that cannot unfuse.
